I have been in Chile, right now before the rest of the guys, and it has been epic, big drops, clean waterfalls, alotta fun. So far I have been to Pichalemu, the maipo, and the the rio claro. The maipo was fully epic. Big water class 4 with one 5 and steep creeks all around it that are fully sik. One drop I ran in the area on the Yesso river was a sketch 30 footer with a class 5 entrance.

The next destination, Pichalemu was a disappointment. The swells were small except for one day and the waves were not to photogenic.
Then there is the claro, which so far has been my favorite creek in all of Chile. The rio claro is most known for its clean set of waterfalls known as the siete tazas, but a newly discovered commited gorge section called the entres saltos was really what made the trip. The main drop garganta del diablo is a slide into a 30 footer that banks of a wall a full 180 degrees on the slide, fully epic. Once you run the drop you are committed to a set of class 5 rapids that are some of the best i have ever seen, including a 20 meter slide that is 2 feet wide, so narrow you cant flip. After the gorge you are home free.

The third section in the area that has only been run a a handful of times is the veintidos saltos. This section has a set of mostly clean waterfalls ranging from 10- 30 feet, all fully epic. There is practically no where to scout though so just buck up and run em, the crew is coming down to chile soon, looks like this trip is going to be worth while.
